That's what I get for breaking up a pallet with a sledge hammer.

Ouch! I tried to open a can of Beans with a hacksaw. It didn't work.

Lean the pallet against a wall and knock the slats off from the back. Use the sledge to then bend the nails down to the wood. Safest way to do it. Not sure why you'd destroy a good $60 pallet though.

I'm pretty sure my glasses saved my eye. Up another inch it would have been bad news.

I ususally do it that way but it kepy slipping so I laid it down. And it's because we have too many pallets and nowhere to put them and I'm sick of tripping over them.

I usually am! I got tired, didn't move my feet and when I hit this and it flew up I was standing with my face in the way evidently.

that is why I love wearing glasses. I had a 16 penny framing nail turn around on me against a knot from a gun that had some juice. If it wasnt for my glasses my eye would have been out of there

Damn that's brilliant. I mean, except the car where you cut your finger accidentally, but I'm definitely keeping that in my "show off to friends if I ever go camping" folder.

I had a similar thing happen and my glasses were what saved my eye. It knocked the lens out of the frame but deflected the nail and saved my eye.

Well I've done it before without getting hit in the face. Needless to say, lesson learned. Right before my birthday too.

I need to find safety glasses that fit over my glasses. The only reason I never wear them is because they're not comfortable with my glasses on and I rarely wear my contacts.
